UME wants to see Cambodian Citizen be able to speak and use excellent English, and able to participate  in all kinds of cultures and globalization.  
Mission
General English Program (UME) is to support and enstrong the University’s students by providing ESL instruction, to enhance undergraduate education through work with international teaching assistants, to train prospective ESL teachers, and to support the University’s community and international goals.

GENERAL ENGLISH PROGRAM
University of Management and Economics has a General English Program that provides the students English knowledge and short-courses, and this program describes as the follow:

GENERAL ENGLISH PROGRAM

UME’s General English Program is a part-time program designed for students wishing to hone and achieve their English Language Proficiency for general purposes.

The Course consists of 8 Levels ranging from beginner to Advanced. The 4 macro skills emphasized are Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. In addition, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension are key focus points.

GEP CERTIFICATE

Pre-Diploma Certificate is awarded on successful completion of 4 term from level 1 to level 4.

Diploma Certificate is awarded on successful completion from level 5 to level 6 and overall ban score of 550 on the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL).

High-Diploma Certificate is awarded on successful completion from level 7 to level 8 and overall ban score of 550 on the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL).

This Program is perfect for student wishing to take TOEFL or IELTs standard test for international scholarships support to study abroad. Strict rules regarding attendance, assignments and class participation.

 TEACHERS
All instructors are university graduates with specialized ESL teacher training and overseas experience and Native Speakers.

GEP QUALIFICATION AND PROVIDENT

 Two Big Libraries, Computer Lap, American Corner with Free Internet Service/Wi-Fi, Big campus, Video Room and Big class with good environment.

LENGTH OF STUDY PER EACH TERM
Each level is 6 months (120 hours) in length and there are 8 units of the New English File textbook (Oxford University)
